Honda FCX Clarity Hydrogen launched into serial production


Honda Motor Co. began commercial production car running on hydrogen. Four FCX Clarity sedan driven by electric motors, receiving energy from hydrogen fuel cells. The only product of such a complex is water. Moreover, according to Honda, a new car three times more efficient fuel consumption than a car with a regular internal combustion engine. At one refuelling hydrogen FCX Clarity can travel up to 490 km.

Since July Honda Hydrogen car will be available for a limited number of customers in Southern California and later in 2008 - to consumers in Japan. The main obstacles to the serial production of FCX Clarity remain high price and lack of refuelling stations for hydrogen.

Honda to Provide its New Fuel Cell Vehicle, FCX Clarity, and Other Technologies for the Hokkaido Toyako Summit

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. will provide its new fuel cell vehicle, FCX Clarity, as well as Civic Hybrid and other advanced technologies for the Hokkaido Toyako Summit to be held July 7-9, 2008.


Honda decided to participate in support of the Japanese government’s effort to showcase the most advanced environmental technologies at this Hokkaido Toyako Summit.

In addition to providing environmentally-responsible vehicles, Honda is to exhibit its advanced environmental technologies including the CIGS(*) thin film solar cells, of which Honda began mass production and sales in 2007, as well as the Honda FC Stack, which is installed in FCX Clarity.

Moreover, Honda plans to demonstrate ASIMO at the Environmental Showcase (which will be located within the International Media Center, IMC, for exhibitions and demonstrations of Japan’s environmental technologies.)

1. Honda’s new fuel cell vehicle FCX Clarity (1 unit) - For outdoor exhibition and test drives at International Media Center (IMC)

2. Civic Hybrid (9 units) - For transportation of government officials of each participating country.

Honda FCX Clarity - serial hydrogen vehicle



Honda Company has submitted to the Los Angeles version of a serial car, working on hydrogen fuel, which has become a Honda FCX Clarity.
For the first time Honda FCX Concept car was shown at the 2005 Tokyo, the most recent regular version of the machine exhibited in Tokyo again.
The serial version Honda FCX given the name Clarity, buyers in the United States will be offered a lease for $ 600 per month. At one hydrogen fuel tank car can travel 435 km
